A slow journey in the heart of Transylvania

This isn’t escape. This is return.

There are places you visit. And there are places that feel like home, they make you slow down.

This is one of those places.

  Not a destination, a feeling

This journey is not about seeing more. It’s about feeling more.

Transylvania is a place you don’t fully understand at first but you feel it as you move through it. A landscape where wild nature and everyday life exist side by side, without trying to stand out. Rolling hills, deep forests and roads that lead through places that feel untouched. But it’s not just the scenery.

It’s the villages where life still follows its own rhythm. Where mornings begin slowly and there is no pressure. Homes have souls. Gardens that change with the seasons. Small details you don’t see immediately. The food is simple and local, made without rushing and shared without ceremony.

And then there’s the nature. Forests that are alive. Fields filled with wildflowers. Birds, wind and silence that never feels empty. Wildlife still belongs here, not as something to be sought, but as something that simply exists alongside everything else.

Nothing feels separate. It’s all part of the same place, moving in the same quiet rhythm.

Not just a place to see but a place to feel.

  Starting point: Brasov

Brașov is the perfect place to slow down gently. A small city surrounded by mountains, with quiet streets and soft energy.  Spend a night here. Walk through the old town. Have a slow dinner.  Then leave the city behind.

  Into the wild (quiet)

As you move deeper into the countryside, everything begins to change.

The roads get smaller. The air feels cleaner. And the rhythm of life slows down.Villages are simple. Houses are lived-in, not styled. People move with intention, not urgency.

This is where you feel it.

  Where to stay

Stay somewhere small. A guesthouse. A family-run place. A home with a view. You don’t need luxury here. Just quiet mornings, fresh air  and time that doesn’t feel scheduled.

  Getting there

  From Europe:

  • Fly to Bucharest (OTP); Drive ~2.5 hours to Brașov or

  • Fly directly to Brașov (limited flights)

Optional:  Stay one night in Bucharest or Brașov before heading into the countryside.

  If you stop in Bucharest

Bucharest is vibrant, contrasting, and full of energy. It’s worth a short stay for the architecture, the cafés, and the atmosphere.

But the real journey begins when you leave it behind.

  Wild nature

Nature here is still real. Forests are deep. Mountains feel untouched. And yes — wildlife exists.  You might hear about bears. They are part of the ecosystem, not of the experience.  Respect nature, and it will stay exactly as it is: raw, beautiful and alive.

  And finally…

Not every journey takes you away. Some bring you back.

Back to quiet.  Back to simplicity.  Back to yourself.  Will you come back?

P.S. If you resonate with this rhythm and feel you need this kind of pause, but don’t know where to start, let’s talk.

I don’t organize tours; I create the space for these kinds of experiences. I love searching for those homes with a soul and the roads that don’t appear in commercial guidebooks, so that you can focus on the only thing that matters: how you feel while you are there.
